Elmo must DIE!

December 30th, 2005 — 4:53am

Kill Elmo

EJ got loads of gifts this year for Christmas, but this Elmo takes the cake. Before I begin ranting, I must let you know now: I HATE ELMO! ’nuff said.

*sigh*

< --Begin Rant Now-->
This godforsaken toy cost me $40 bucks. Why? It says EJ’s name, remembers his birthday, favorite foods, and songs. It’s easily programmable and is the only plush doll I know that brings a USB port and software. The damn thing has only successfully loaded the setting ONCE! Then I had to be an idiot and decide he should sing more. It has never loaded 100% ever again. All he says is “Hi EJ” in a weird, Chucky sort of way and randomly tells me its bedtime at all hours of the day - by himself. Hopefully, Toys R Us will let me grab a new one.

Teaching Him Good Habits

December 30th, 2005 — 3:00am

I realized that I put a category for Super Dad, but that there’s hardly anything blogged on it. So what’s it like watching EJ, working at home, and being a househusband? Mostly, I spend a lot of the day playing and teaching EJ things. Like speaking Spanish, what things are, reprimanding him for doing naughty things, reading to him and just plain quality time. One of the things I’m grateful for is finally owning my own digital camera so I can take loads of pictures of him. There are plenty of great pics on his site, so go ahead and check him out.

Damn Strike is Killing Me!

December 21st, 2005 — 2:49pm

I’m so exhausted after driving approximately 6+ hours a day. I haven’t been able to post everything I want to post. I can’t work. I can’t concentrate. Anyone else? At least EJ is having a good time.

Best Buy’s Blunder

December 20th, 2005 — 3:49am

In October of 2002, Jeesely and I purchased a then “state-of-the-art” DV Camcorder. It has gone through a trying time, however this Fall and eventually we had to take it back to Best Buy to get get it serviced. We purchased a Service Plan for the item that insures it for service for four years. However, when Best Buy told us that they couldn’t fix it and we would have to pick out a new camera with the same specs, we felt kind of cheated. Why? We paid almost 900 dollars for this item and we would have to replace it with one of about a 250 dollar value with no continuance of our current service plan, which is worth 180 dollars.

So we had no choice to give in right? Wrong, the person who handled our case over the phone had left her shift and someone else gave us an exchange of a better camcorder. But it didn’t stop there. She also gave us the difference of that camera to what we paid in 2002! So today we took the new camcorder back, unopened, for credit. Apparently, we get the last laugh. So what did we get with all this credit for man toys? Most of these things deserve their own post, so more on that later. ;-)

Buy This Off Ebay…

December 14th, 2005 — 1:12pm

Ebay Chick

Well not her per se but a set of pictures of her. This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen on Ebay. The best part? She states:

If you are with the United States Armed Forces and Email me FROM YOUR .mil Email address,
I will give this package to you for free.
Thanks for putting your asses on the line for our country….

Raise your errrrr flags countrymen!

Samorost 2

December 14th, 2005 — 8:28am

Samorost 2

I have never played the original, but this game is quite the awesomeness in point-and-click, puzzle solving. It’s about a little dude who gets his dog stolen by alien. Go ahead, try it. I dare you not to get stuck once! You can play chapter one of two for free or purchase the full version on this site. I’m contemplating on the full version because this first chapter is pretty neat.

I’m Feeling Quite Wireless Again

December 12th, 2005 — 2:46pm

I’d like to take the time to thank Acer’s Customer Support for handling my laptop woes quickly and effectively. As I said before, my second rate laptop had me suffering. But I am now a happy camper once more.

Quarter Century of Greatness!

December 10th, 2005 — 10:11pm

Jeff and II’d thought I’d shout out my homeslice Jeff for turning a fantabulous 25 years today! Here are some of the highlights of our friendship:

  • we didn’t like each other right away
  • the whole gang would congregate at his place after school (Junior High)
  • in the Chinatown basketball tournament together (I pretended to be Filipino)
  • cut class to get heart attack breakfast at McDonald’s
  • mutually liking and hating the same peeps in High School
  • always thoughtful enough to bring me pork buns, even to this day.
  • helped me so i could graduate the day before graduation!
  • passed each other TI-82 answers in Calculus
  • starting a rapidly growing sports site with me

Jeff, you rock, I hope that you are doing well on your birthday. Here’s a thowback picture for you…

Myspace sssuuuxxx!!!

December 10th, 2005 — 5:30am

I am still trying to understand why people are flocking to myspace like a bunch of Minnesota Vikings to a cruise. The interface sux, the blog system sux, and the only reason you even want to go on myspace is because all your friends are on it, you want to meet some singles or to connect with old friends. I see everyone has forgotten about Friendster (whom also blogs now). Also, those of you that have the music playing in your myspace: you suck! I hear the damn song over and over again and I want to kill myself (mostly because the songs suck). I would like to add that most of you customizing your myspace are trying to blind your reader. No one can actually see yellow text. Last but not least I tip my hat to the myspace staff making sure that the site is down or inaccesable to the end-user at least 95% of the time.

That being said my myspace is link on the right sidebar over there so add me as your friend—>

*sigh* I shamed myself into making a page and even customized the css to look cool.
