Help me raise money for an Xbox 360! Please?

October 29th, 2007 — 10:07pm

At the time of this writing I’ve raise ONE DOLLAR!!! only 448.99 plus tax to go!

The story behind this one:
I know it sounds selfish, but lots of my friends are on Xbox Live (I can still remember a time when I was the only one) and they’ve been complaining about me not being on for the all night Halo matches that we used to have. Truth be told, I’m going to put all the blame on my wife (sorry honey) who I’m sure doesn’t believe that me having a 360 is worth shelling out the kind of cash that it costs. We’re talking about someone that doesn’t understand why I wont settle for a Core System. ;) Clearly, I’m going for the Elite system. I thank those that will donate to the cause of a broken adult gamer but a SPECIAL THANKS to Eric Sipes (my homie) whom donated the first all important dollar!

Whoopi gives me a reason to watch “The View”

October 8th, 2007 — 6:55am

For the past I-have-no-freaking-clue-how-long, every time I switched on the view, there they were: The Bird Squakers.  Just a few days ago, Jeesely decided to record an episode of this horrid show because Sara Silverman was on it and she thought I’d enjoy it.  She was right!  But not because of Sara.  Whoopi, whom is now the moderator and not dying Barbara Walters, was kicking ass all over the discussions!  I was pleasantly surprised that she turns this usually dull and boring hour long chick argument into an intelligent conversation where she makes all the other Birds look like uneducated morons.  In only 20 MINUTES I saw her make right wing wannabe washed up football wife Elisabeth Hasselback look rich and white as snow - not a good thing when discussing monetary benefits for the poor - Joy look like an unwed woman going through menopause, the other black woman (I don’t want to even know her name) look like a bible toting hypocrite, and Barbara, well, she’s just old no matter what.  I may actually start watching this show.  Good Daytime TV is has a new hit!  Good bye Rosie!

Journey to Ohio LinuxFest: The Night Before the Trip

October 2nd, 2007 — 3:18am

It was predetermined that the day before LinuxFest would be legendary. The idea originally was to educate Andrew on origins of the ‘hood by subjecting him to Hood Movie classics.

The night started by the fellas (Sipes and Ken) coming and picking us up at work to head back to Phoenixville, where the movie viewing would take place. We stopped off at the Thai place by my house, cleverly named “Thai Place” and ordered up some Pad Thai and such things, then stopped by Hollywood Video only to find that “Don’t be a Menace to South Central while drinking your Juice in da Hood” was not available.

Being the geeks that we are we used Google 411 to get the number for Blockbuster to check their stock. Turns out they had 2 copies and 15 minutes until they closed. We bolted over there only to find out that Conk’s card owed money. I stepped up and signed up for a membership and we were off to start the 3 movie marathon of “Menace II Society”, “Boyz in da Hood”, and “Don’t be a Menace…”.

The night was full of energy drinks, Asian goodness, and so many ghetto references that made me feel like I was back on Stranded Island, New York. All was well… we would sleep in brotherhood awaiting a 8 hour drive to Columbus.
