Addicted to Before and After YouTube Videos

June 29th, 2008 — 2:52pm

I don’t know why I think it’s funny - but I can’t stop with related translations of viral videos. I knew I was addicted when I saw Charlie bit my finger. Wait, what? You don’t know about Charlie!? Allow me to indulge your curiosity:

Sure it’s funny on it’s own: but the followups are JUST AS GREAT:

One of my favorite before after videos after the jump..

June 26th, 2008 — 9:58pm

Andrew and Deanna came over yesterday and all 5 of us acted like 10 year olds by throwing water balloons at each other! Fun times.

These are mostly before and after pics (no waterproof camera).

Google to develop software to detect throttling

June 14th, 2008 — 11:52pm

Internet JesusThis itty bitty company called Google is planning on developing software to help users detect whether or not you internet is being tampered with. In case you don’t know what throttling is, it’s loosy defined as limiting your upload/download speed with certain “types” of applications.

This is been a moral issue with me personally as I have been effected by how much I can upload by Comcast and Cablevision in the past.  I don’t see them saying… “Well it’s 2am and I don’t think that Edwin should be watching the Cosby Show right now so let’s turn off his Nick @ Night so that Clarence down the street can watch Golden Girls”.  If I feel like putting on 11 Televisions with 11 Cable Boxes ALL on the Cosby Show, I will because I PAY FOR THE SERVICE.  They are lucky the Powerpuff girls aren’t on anymore because I’d totally have to save 1 TV for that.  But I digress….

This would be an awesome move by Internet Jesus [Google], to finally give something to the consumers that throw their money at these overpriced service providers.  Rest assured, I will one of the first in line.

Firefox Mobile Concept Video

June 12th, 2008 — 11:57pm

I watched this and immediately thought: Firefox is the Mobile Safari killer?  Of course this is just a concept but nonetheless I thought it was a fun one to watch.  These are the small reasons why I love the Firefox team for taking something hard to do (mobile browsing) and thinking of the user interface.  Now if they could only get my tabs to appear on open in Firefox 3, I’d be much more excited about this video.

June 12th, 2008 — 11:22pm

I’m stoked at the fact that Ubuntero.org will be relaunching soon with a new design, feel, and complete restructuring of the community.  I’m gonna keep all our goodies hush hush for now but keep your eyes peeled at the site.  Currently we have a letter up explaining where we are and where we went.  So if you had an account there and loved it, we’re sorry - please feel free to come back and check us out.  If you were never there and you want to know more about it, check out the page that’s there and keep coming back.  We’d love to hear your comments on it so far — so leave ‘em here for now.
