About this Album
This album was almost never made. I have been composing the tracks on this album individually for years and they represent my favorites. However, these songs are what I would call from my “old school” compositions and were never meant to be compiled. But I wanted to represent them in some sort of way and I wanted to share them with you, as is. These tracks have not been modified from their original recordings (except for some EQ and Volume tweaks). Why? I knew that I would not want to revisit them ever again but I didn’t want to completely discard the ideas. Frankly, I think that it represents some of my best musical ideas to date, even if they aren’t the best recordings! So I’m giving them away. Yes, giving… All the tracks of this album are available to anyone online and are free to download, distribute, share, listen to, rock out, use in you’re movie, play, video, etc (as long as I get credit for the composition). Why? Because music sets me free so it’s my gift to you. So I thought I’d give a bit of an overview of these tracks and how they came about.
About the Tracks
Fight or Flight has become one of my favorite songs. It’s the most recent and the only track I have actually tried to rap on (thank God). In Walls of My Room, Nick and I were trying out for a producers audition and this was our audition piece. The Things I Don’t Say was an anniversary gift to my wife. It stands as the only song I’ve every written about her. I decided to bring back an old track and rerecord from scratch and the end result was Ricochet as it appears here. My Beating Heart was a track that was meant for another artist but I liked it so much, I recorded my own version. I decided to take an idea another musician had given me and turn it into a song. Here all my original superstitions came to life in Knock on Wood. In an effort to redeem ourselves from and old recording we made Mayra came over and blew me away in Your Poison. Jeesely begged me to do it so I put on an oldie as the last track, Lost the Connection.

Most people would want to begin this by thanking God. I always knew that my very first thank you would be to my adoring wife, Jeesely, for always secretly believing in me. I love you more than this text can say. Ok now, God, you da (wo)man! Thank you Lord for blessing me with the urge to create things beyond myself (I didn’t thank you first because I know you love me no matter what, Jeesely doesn’t have to and yet still does). Mom, you are the best. Thank you for being my support growing up. I know you don’t realize how much you mean to me but I want the world to know that you have always been a rock solid example of a parent that raised me to become an adult that cared about others, something that is severely lacking in today’s world. To my uncles, Javier and José, for letting me hang out with you and listening to music with you. If you only knew how much of that I still listen to. To Dorian, for unleashing the composer in me during our teen years. If it weren’t for you I would have played trombone forever (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Nick, you are an amazing musician, composer, but best of all, friend. I stand firmly in my belief that there is no other person in the world that I would want to create music with if you are the alternative. You’re talent surpasses human emotion and you’re the best guitarist that ever lived PERIOD. To Ray Scro, for nurturing me throughout High School, when I was deeply exploring my musicianship. Also for letting me understand what 7ths, 9ths, 13ths were. To the City College Music Program teachers: Professor Bingham, for keeping it real, real soulful. Professor Steele for being so hip and positive. Professor Motley for getting out of your cage and teaching me appogio! You three made me realize I will never stop improving up until the day I die. Professor Jablonski, for showing me the score to “All the Things You Are” – that day was the day that I realized the music IS ALIVE! To my long time friends: Anthony, Jeff, and Andru. You guys always kept me grounded and made sure I stood out of trouble, just not mischief. To Dad, for instilling good morals and making sure that I remember what’s important, family.
