Ubuntero.com will not be spoiled by anyone

I find no reason to let opinions on this personal blog get in the way of the spirit of the reason why Ubuntero was created. There is no need for me to keep the original content of this post if it intends to disrespect anyone.

You seem to be acting incredibly immature over this. Have you considered maybe just allowing two different sites to coexist? Competition really isn’t an issue here, and I don’t think there’s any reason for you to be getting your panties in a bunch over Paladine wanting to do his own thing.

Um.. yeah, that seems like a pretty small thing to do… sounds like some kid hit you in the face with a snowball and you ran home and are telephoning his mother to tell on him… grow up a little bit. Do you really find it hard to believe that someone else had the same idea you had and has been working towards achieving that goal? I don’t.
By the way, does he know you posted that message? I’d assume he’d have considered it a private message. I wouldn’t want my messages up on some website without my approval first…

As you say then, but you can’t tell the tone in typed messages and arguing about tone of an email like that is like arguing colour schemes with a blind man. You should think twice before dragging someones personal message they sent to some else on your website. I’m sure somewhere that’s considered a violation of privacy (lets not go further into it). I just felt reading this that I had to say something… however all that being said your site sounds just as interesting as his does and I will visit both in the future.

Blair, I agree, tone comes across badly in text. To be honest, I hope that I never offended Paladine by doing so - that wasn’t my intention. I’m displeased that he did not want to collaborate, and I can admit that I was not expecting that kind of response, however, I applaud his project as a separate entity - it’s important to the community and that’s where it matters. The whole purpose of Ubuntero.com is to have such a venue. So, if anyone has taken my posting his email as a sign of defamation - i assure you that I did not intend it to come across that way. It was his opinion and I respect it.
I invite Paladine to join with anyone else. The more Ubuntu lovers the better!
